Women in Business Conference organized by EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) was held in Almaty on May 16th. The event has become a quality platform for networking and knowledge sharing for more than 100 women entrepreneurs from all over Kazakhstan. The event was attended by employees of MFO “KMF” and Fund “KMF-Demeu”. Main topics of the Conference were the achievements of the Women in Business Program, construction of the business model that takes into account gender differences, Turkey’s experience in expanding opportunities of women entrepreneurs. Comprehensive Women in Business Program aimed at supporting women business was launched in 2015. The program was supported by the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Entrepreneurship Development Fund “Damu”. The partners of the program were Microfinance Organization “KMF”, ForteBank, Bank CenterCredit and Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan. Recall that in June 2016, MFO “KMF” signed the loan agreement with EBRD for the total amount of KZT 3.8 billion with two equal tranches. In 2017, KMF received the next tranche. KMF began lending in August 2016 and provided financing to more than 9,000 women entrepreneurs. To date, several events have been held jointly with EBRD, such as Client's Day, KMF's Woman and Business Conference, and Women's Cafe - informal discussion of topics relevant to entrepreneurs.
